Curriculum and programme
Genius School has a highly balanced curriculum which has been carefully designed in line with our national curriculum under the IB PYP framework. Completely aligned with the IB philosophy, our curriculum is engaging, relevant, challenging and significant from both local and global perspective. The curriculum at Genius mostly comes from the students’ curiosity, pressing current issues, teachers’ rigorous researches, the nature around us and the demands faced in the immediate surrounding along with the national curriculum. The school’s curriculum and pedagogy promotes both local and global cultures and values and encourages greater international-mindedness.
International Baccalaureate Programme
Genius School is an accredited school for International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP).
IBPYP is the curriculum framework designed for students aged 3 to 12. It is an enquiry based learning programme guided by 6 trans-disciplinary themes of global significance in connection with 6 different subject areas helping to develop conceptual understanding by using knowledge and skills to develop values that help them contribute to the world as responsible global citizens. It helps children to become caring, independent learners who are capable of thinking for themselves and taking responsibility of their own learning.
One of the most important features of the IBPYP is the 6 trans-disciplinary themes that create opportunity for children to stretch the width and depth of knowledge to develop better understanding of human, physical and non-physical world around them.
Inquiry into the nature of the self; beliefs and values; person,
physical, mental, social and spiritual health; human relationships
including families, friends, communities, and cultures; rights and
responsibilities; what it means to be human
Inquiry into orientation in place and time; personal histories;
homes and journeys; the discoveries, explorations and migrations of humankind; the relationship between and the interconnectedness of individuals and civilizations, from local and
global perspectives
Inquiry into the ways in which we discover and express ideas,
feelings, nature, culture, beliefs and values; the ways in which we reflect on, extend and enjoy our creativity; our appreciation of the aesthetic
Inquiry into the natural world and its laws, the interaction between the natural world (physical and biological) and human societies; how humans use their understanding of scientific principles; the impact of scientific and technological advances on
society and on the environment.
