Faith, Culture, and Conflict: The Struggle for Peace

Have you ever wondered why we have conflicts and wars around the world? There are many reasons why wars and conflicts happen but you can directly or indirectly notice that somehow it is connected to cultures and religions.

There are many religions around the world, each with its own unique beliefs, traditions, and practices reflecting the diverse ways people connect and understand the divine. Religions and cultures are a set of beliefs, and the understanding of how people survive in the diverse world. Every culture and religion have their beliefs and own rituals that shape how they occupy in their society. Conflict is an argument between two or more groups or individuals fighting for needs, opinions, essentials etc. Similarly, in religion they have disagreements on each other’s belief, ritual, culture, tradition and trust. A conflict doesn’t always need to be wars, it can be minor conflicts, physical fights, verbal conflict etc. You can see the examples around the world as well. There are some significant religious wars. For instance, Crusades, The thirty year wars, French wars, Spanish inquisition etc.

There are so many events that influence the present peace and conflict condition. Not only in cultural or religious wars but also historical events have impacted on environment conditions, public health crisis conditions and so on. Firstly, talk about the environment where you can find environmental degradation increasing. The cause of it ofcourse wars and conflicts. As in wars they can use toxic substances for the surrounding like uranium and the mustard gas. Overuse of natural resources for their own good can be one reason for environmental degradation. Next, it can also destroy cultural heritage which is a great affection to the future itself. Secondly, to talk about the health crisis resolution impact due to wars. For example the Gavi’s organization. This is an organization that has helped people recover from many deadly diseases like polio and also helped 1.1 billion kids recover from it. This organization was influenced by world war I.

No matter how many religions participate in wars and conflicts their faith always educates them about how to promote peace in our society. Somehow the term justice and fairness also comes under this. Always to maintain harmony and peace in a certain place justice and fairness should be balanced then and there. Remember that they are like magnets, justice is incomplete without fairness and fairness is incomplete without justice.

In conclusion, religion and culture really influences peace and conflict throughout the years. Even though conflicts may be bad but know that because of it things developed a lot. We should always respect every religion and aware people in our community as well.
